For the past few weeks, Season 3 of HB Freestyles has fully been in motion. This week, two Newton favourites; Trills and Screwface travelled down to the Link Up TV Studios to record their back to back freestyle with Joey Clipstar.
Birmingham is home to many talented rappers – M1llionz, Jaykae, and Stefflon Don to name a few. Trills and Screwface give an element of mystery in their appearance as they are generally incognito in their videos. Although the pair may be masked, the visuals and flows the pair adopt initiate a freestyle full of high energy.
Both Trills and Screwface have singularly released songs, with the likes of ‘Band Addiction’ and ‘Win’ being fan favourites. Attaining thousands of views is not a difficult task for the pair on their own, however with the songs that they have collaborated together on, this is where the pair have received a lot of recognition. Their most popular being ‘Birmingham City’ has accumulated a crazy 3.5 million views in just a few months.
As artists, Trills and Screwface continue to grow and develop and sticking mostly within the drill parameters, they use a punchy beat with candid lyrical content to adhere to the genre. They touch on some past experiences in their life in their verses, both exhibiting courage and audacity.
